Progress so far, an update for you all

The Crescent has lodged formal complaints with NHS East of England (The Strategic Health Authority) and also with the Local Government Ombudsman regarding the termination of contracts for services, and how this has been handled by NHS Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire County Council.

There have been further reports in the local press, the Herts Advertiser, most importantly an article featuring an interview with Mr Chris White, Leader of the Opposition at Hertfordshire County Council, who is quoted as saying “I smell a rat” and the closure had been shockingly handled, that there has been no consultation with him or his colleagues, despite there having been a full Council meeting the day before the contracts were withdrawn, not only for the Crescent, but for a number of other important Hertfordshire based organisations too.

He will continue to investigate on behalf of the Crescent, and  has called on the County Council to put the decision on hold until Councillors had an opportunity to assess whether it was a reduction in the service provision.
