We have published another update on PositiveLite illustrating our latest endeavours, including the marvellous event at Boots in St Albans with Elizabeth Arden, and details of the fantastic QAVS award too.
We are thrilled that the Bishop of St Albans has nominated us for this amazing award, (which is the equivalent of an MBE for a voluntary organisation) and especially honoured to be considered on the eve of HM the Queen’s 90th birthday too. Three of our volunteers attended a reception at County Hall in Hertford recently as recognition of our nomination.
The winners of the award will be announced in June and we will of course keep you informed ! If we are successful we will be presented with our award by The Countess of Verulam, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire and receive an invite to a garden party at Buckingham Palace.
Thanks as ever for your support, we cant do what we do without you!

This event is being organised by our good friends at the ChloeJames Lifestyle store at 12 the High Street St Albans. Tickets are available now at £15 but will go quickly as the last event in April sold out in a very short time, call the store on 01727 843431 / email@example.com
It promises to be a fun night with lots of great fashion and lifestyle items to see and also to purchase as we believe the store will be open on the night for you to buy items that grab you!
There are a wealth of things to see on their website and online shop too, (with more in store) http://www.chloejameslifestyle.co.uk fashion, interiors, gifts, jewellery, so much more!
Come along for a fun night and raise funds for us at the same time!
Please see the latest article in the Hertfordshire Advertiser talking about the kind assistance from our local County Councillor, Chris White, and also his colleagues from across the County, who have once again this year helped us by awarding sums of money from their locality to budgets to allow us to continue our work. We also have once again this year been awarded a grant from the community fund from St Albans City and District Council to help us with running our social groups and lunch events.
We are very pleased indeed to receive this support both from the City Council, and also from so many County Councillors who clearly recognise the value of our services to the community across the County. It is a grave pity that the County Council still refuses to acknowledge that we deserve some funding for the work we do and that nearly five years on we are still managing to provide the much needed support for people living with HIV in the County.
We are pleased to announce that following numerous requests from previous attendees, we will be holding another quiz night, hosted by our lovely Patron CJ de Mooi, at Homewood Road Church Hall, Homewood Road, St Albans, AL1 4BH on 08 August from 19.30. Tickets are now available to reserve by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01727 842532 (answerphone available out of hours, please leave a contact number when leaving a message)
Last years event was very popular and so we expect these to sell quickly, as before tckets will be £6 each or £22 for a team of four, £32 for a team of six.
Refreshments will be available on the night, with beer, wine and soft drinks, plus snack foods and sandwiches.
