Hi all,
Calling all joggers, runners, athletic people, non athletic people, ramblers, in fact anyone who would like to take part in either 5k or 10k run through Victoria Park in London for World AIDS Day
How would you like to take part in an annual charity run and raise money for the Crescent at the same time?
The Red Run is an annual event, organised by Positive East, designed to raise awareness of HIV, to mark World AIDS Day (01 December) and also raise funds for HIV charities across the UK. It is one of the UK’s largest World AIDS Day community fundraising events and since it began in 2008 over £200,000 has been raised for HIV support charities like the Crescent.
Last year over 600 people took part !
This year the run will take place on Sunday 26 November in Victoria park, east London and you can choose either a 10k or 5k route. Everyone is welcome to take part, all ages and abilities, the course is relatively flat with very little incline or decline and is accessible for wheelchairs.
Registration starts at 11am and the race begins officially at 12.15, you can also have your results sent by text to you.
On the day there will be entertainment, hot drinks, a BBQ, mulled wine and mince pies, sections of the AIDS memorial quilt will be on display too.
How do I register?
It is very easy, just go to http://www.redrun.org.uk and click on “register now” You will then be asked to choose either a 5k or 10k course and which charity you would like to run for (The Crescent)
Registration is open now and closes on Thursday 23rd of November.
The event is supporting 28 charities across the UK this year and this is our first year taking part in this event so If you feel able please do register, help us to keep helping those at risk in our community !
If you prefer to donate directly please visit our donations page at http://www.thecrescent.org.uk/donate
Thanks again for your support,
