Busking for World Aids Day 03 Dec

Hi all,

On Saturday 03 December from 11am we will be holding another of our popular Busking Days to raise awareness of HIV and commemorate World Aids Day (which is the 1st of December)

The event will be held at the Clock Tower in St Albans as usual and we have a huge number of acts to perform this year including (in no particular order);

Listen to our member Blessing on BBC 3 Counties today

Hi all,

Listen to our member Blessing today on the BBC3 Counties programme “Shrink Wrapped” talking about her diagnosis and the subsequent diagnosis of her youngest daughter following the collapse of her marriage. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02c9w79 We are on from 34 mins, following the interview with Blessing we talk about late diagnosis and the need to get tested regularly to avoid passing on the virus and of course harming your own health.

Don’t forget our Stand Tall Get Snapped Exhibition is still open at the North Transept of St Albans Cathedral until 05 December and we will be in the St Albans Market tomorrow for World Aids Day plus a street collection throughout the City too. At the Christmas cabin you can enter a raffle to win a 40″ TV as well as a host of other amazing prizes too.

There is also a free live music event at the Clock Tower in St Albans on Saturday 06 December from 11 to 4pm featuring a host of live bands to raise funds for us too.

Photos from the Fantastic Busking Event in St Albans last month raising funds for the Crescent

Please see below for some more photographs taken at our busking day fundraiser last month. Thanks to Andy Brain, http://www.andybrain.co.uk for taking these great pics, and allowing us to share them with you too. The day went really well, despite the weather, and we hope that our next busking event later this year will be as good, if not even better (if that is possible!!) Keep watching this space! Big thanks to Denise Parsons from Trestle Arts Base for organising the event, and also of course to all the hugely talented acts that took part too.

We should also thank again The Boot, St Albans, for providing food and drink on the day and for organising a raffle for us too as well as taking collecting tins. Big thanks to the Meating Room St Albans for providing free mini burgers, also to Lush St Albans for also handing out freebies on the day. Empire Records St Albans also lent a hand advertising the event, and also taking collecting tins for us as well for which we are very grateful.

Not forgetting of course all our amazing volunteers who did such a marvellous job collecting donations from the general public, and also handed out info packs and free condoms to passers by too.

All in all it was a very successful day and we are looking forward to holding another busking day very soon, now that the weather has improved!

A Busking & Street Collection Event at the Clock Tower St Albans High Street 24th May from 10.30 am

Christmas In July Saturday 27th July from 7.30 PM at The Load of Hay Watford

Just to let you know our next fund raiser will be our annual event in conjunction with the Load of Hay Pinner Road Watford this Saturday 27th July from 7.30 onwards.

All welcome there will be a raffle and the usual frivolities!! All aiming to raise funds for us to keep helping those in need!
